ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. The UG Piping Superintendent is responsible for coordinating the installation of HDPE and carbon steel systems. This includes both fusion welding, Gtaw and SMAW welding. This role requires detailed planning skills and the ability to open trenches, install and test the pipe and then backfill the trench to minimize impact to above ground activitieis.This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Determine subcontractor manpower tools, equipment and material requirements for the craft

  • Work with subcontractor supervisor to develop daily craft assignments to be performed and review work accomplished

  • Prepare short and long term schedules, interface with other discipline superintendents and field engineers

  • Supervise and direct subcontractor personnel and craft in construction activities within the piping discipline

  • Work with subcontractor supervisor to develop craft loading and manpower forecasts

  • Monitor actual work performance compared to the project budget and schedule

  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines and clients' residence representative as instructed by construction management

  • Perform personnel evaluations on subcontractor personnel

  • Ensure the most current design documentation is being utilized to complete activities;

  • Coordinate subcontractor labor supervision and craft distribution as required

  • Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft grievences

  • Provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project.
