Role Summary/Purpose:

The Service Director II will oversee a specific geographic area and work with clients to help facilitate business needs and requests for their customer base. This position will recruit and hire prospective employees, manage and develop staffing and field

personnel, own field service fulfillment, meet financial targets, and establish and meet productivity metrics.

Essential Functions:

  • Fully accountable for field service delivery within their specific portfolio, including safety, quality, cycle, cost, and value.

  • Direct and lead Service Manager team. Ensure their performance and development is meeting business priorities /objectives.

  • Manage financial responsibilities including inventory analysis, accounts receivable, invoice review, and operating plan targets.

  • Establish and manage key performance indicators to ensure business objectives are met.

  • Partner with Resource Managers to manage workforce utilization.

  • Ensure continuous client contact to assess long-term staffing needs.

  • Contribute to strategic planning activities.

  • Drive execution through cost optimization to achieve regional cost out targets.

  • Work closely with clients to successfully accommodate all business needs.

  • Partner with the Resource and Training teams to create training opportunities for employees.

  • Assist with recruiting and hiring prospective employees.

  • Review job mobilization data, employee feedback, and weekly reports.

  • Work with the EHS team on site audits to ensure compliance.

  • Assist with HR issues, employee safety issues, time and expense review/approval, company initiatives, and other office related activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university or college in Operations, Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Management or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of combined experience in quality/lean, compliance, manufacturing, operations, field services, engineering, or other related fields.

  • 5 or more years of leadership experience.

  • Excellent management, customer service, and communication skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of employees.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Some travel required.

  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong knowledge of GE’s Power Services and/or Granite Services’ field operations and services business model.

  • Strong leadership capabilities leading a Quality organization and initiatives.

  • Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems, Technical Regulations and Standards.

  • Experience implementing and influencing quality metrics.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside of FieldCore (customers and regulatory agencies).

  • High energy, self-starter.

  • Strong change management, oral and written communication skills.

  • Formal quality certification, such as BB or MBB certification.

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university or college, in Operations, Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Management, Quality or related field.

  • Strong listening skills; able to drive a positive employee relations culture into the field.
